When Peterpan Married With Cinderella
Did you ever heard a cinderella story or peterpan? of course most of you say yes. Cinderella story is the most favorite fairy tales in the whole world from kids to parents love that story. For boys, peterpan is one of the most remarkable fairy tale ever, and to be honest I really love that story. But unfortunately I’ll not tell those stories in this article, but I’ll share with you a story inspired by true events.
Ella and peter are lovable couple, they mated by their friends at the mall. They attracted each other, shared their contact numbers and then shared stories together on the phone. Time after time finally their find some conformity on the relationship. Without any longer, they’ve vowed in the beauty of marriage, and then happily ever after.
Wait…, happily what? nope, nope, nope, that wasn’t the story, what they expectations not became reality. Ella is a country girl with the traditional family culture. Ella is a english tutor, she smart, sweet and has good career. Before she get merried, she got promoted to be branch manager but she didn’t accept it because she wants to be with her future husband. After merried, the company moved ella to another branch office near by her husband working place.
Ella’s thought, she will happy live with her husband and has brighter future, has many kids, with simple nice house like korean tv drama she used to watch. But infact, her husband never care about her, he ignore her, he always play game with his laptop and never knows what actually she wants in marriage. She accused her husband cheating with someone, she not tells her husband directly, it’s just prejudice. But prejudice become justification for treat her husband not good.
Beside marriage issues, her career not really good as well, in the branch office she treated not pleasant with her bos. Her partners are not as kind as in the earlier office. Without discuss with her husband, she tells her family that her life is diffucult and unhappy. At the end, she resigned as english tutor and apply to government school as teacher. She abandoned her husband and move to her family with her new career.
Peter is a simple guy with simple dream but has complicated personality and family issues . All peter wants is to make his family happy even though he doesn’t happy at all. He loves her mother so much, and willing to do anything for her. His mother has future wife for peter, but he wants find it by his own choice. After peter met ella, he thought ella has good personality and in the future she can help his personal issues perhaps.
Peter doesn’t believe love in the first sight, he believes love will come to his life when someone willing to survive with him in good and bad time. But unfortunately ella isn’t as good as he thought, she never care about peter at all. Peter was so busy and exhausted with his work, he worked from five am to pm. He goes to his office by train because the distance too far from home. That’s why, for reduce his stress from childhood trauma and depress from work, he plays game or sometimes watch his favorite movie. Her wife doesn’t really understand what peter needed from her, being understood instead love.
One day ella asks peter, “Peter, are you really love me?”, and then peter said “I love you in my way”. “You don’t understand me, all I want is love”, ella said. “Love? what is love? I’m not person like your korean drama fantasy, bring flowers, buy fancy things, watch movie together every sunday, me is me, I ask you back, are you really love me?” peter asked. Ella just silent still and speechless, “I think we don’t fits anymore, I want to break up with you”. Is it happily ever after story? probably not, peter and ella live by their own choice, and happy by the way of their own life.
According to wikipedia, Peter Pan syndrome is the pop-psychology concept of an adult who is socially immature. The category is an informal one invoked by laypeople and some psychology professionals in popular psychology. It is not listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, and is not recognized by the American Psychiatric Association as a specific mental disorder.
The Cinderella syndrome or complex was first described by Colette Dowling, who wrote a book on women’s fear of independence — an unconscious desire to be taken care of by others. The complex is said to become more apparent as a person grows older.
The complex is named after the fairy tale character Cinderella. It is based on the idea of femininity portrayed in that story, where a woman is beautiful, graceful, polite, supportive, hardworking, independent, and maligned by the females of her society, but she is not capable of changing her situations with her own actions and must be helped by an outside force, usually a male.
